CONGRA TULA TIONS Coach Briars' Junior Varsity squad captured the Porter County J. V. Tourney title this year. The future Mustangs defeated Hebron 60-42 in the title game, to become the 1 J.V. team in the P.C.C. The team finished it's regular season with a 15-4 record, with losses coming at the hands of Morgan, Winamac, South Central, and Hanover Central. Our Congratulations go to Coach Briars and the team for their tourney win, and for an exciting season. 28

The varsity track men were strong in nearly all the events. They finished 2nd in the P. C.C. meet, 3rd in the Red division of die Hebron Relays, and in the Freshman- Sophomore meet, we finished 3rd. In dual meets, we dropped only 2 decisions—one a 2-point loss! The 880 relay team was very strong, los- ing only once--to North Judson. KNEELING: Mike Sutter, Steve Good, Mike Young, Coach Thomas, Gary Newland, Tom Williams, Jay Birky, STANDING: Greg Hott, Mike Hartig, Dave Passuello, Kendall Zeiters, Rodney Young, Alfred Curley, Melvin Koehler, Gary Howard, manager. 7TH GRADE The seventh grade team finished it's season with a fine 12-1 record. Their only loss came from Heb- ron in the first game of the season. The eighth grade team finished it's regular sea- son with a 6-7 record. The team only won 1 game out of its first 7, but came on strong to win 5 out of their last six scheduled games. The Jr. High teams finished their seasons by competing in the Jr. High Tourney. 8TH GRADE KNEELING: Paul Hitz, Craig Snyder, Dennis Mogart, Dennis Hathaway, Matt Maul, Ronnie Birky, STANDING: Coach Thomas, Robert Miller, John Hudson, Bruce Schoon, Matt Robbins, Kent Jarnecke, Gary Newland, Gerry Easterday, Mike Cites, Jeff Fritz Managers.
