STO WELL SCHOOL District 6 H SCHOOL U937 MARSHALL GROVE SCHOOL District 1 MORRISON SCHOOL District 4 KOSTANG KOUTS HIGH SCHOOL Kouts, Indiana Volume XIX 1965 EDITOR-IN-CHIEF: Gordon Heiniger BUSINESS MANAGER: Dorothy Miller SECRETARY: Mary Drazer ADVISOR: Miss Laura Bregitzer Foreword This school year was busy for Kouts High students; we studied, had fun, and experienced sad moments of trial and error. There were games and dances; voices were hoarse from Pep Club rooting. There were moments of glory for some of us in sports, musical, and academic accomplishments. All shared the hopeless reality of examinations and deadlines, the semester grades, and the noontime cafeteria rush. These impressions were only a few packed into this full year. Underclassmen who return to KHS in the fall will continue to keep up the high standards of the school and strive for improvement. Graduates will go their separate ways using the knowledge they have gained here to reach their goals. Credit for the production of this book goes to the loyal KOSTANG Staff. We hope you enjoy the KOSTANG. In later years when it is not so easy to think back on 1965, we hope you will treasure the memories this book has stored. TERRENCE MURPHY in the hope that throughout the years to come he will re- member our class with fond memories. We would like to thank you for your sin- cere guidance as our sponsor. Your efforts during the past four years not only have en- hanced our class but also have personally har- vested many friendships. With this dedication we extend to you our wishes for a golden future. Mr. Melvin B. Taylor The Principal’s Message Two challenges present.themselves to the class of 1965. First, the class of 1965 is the largest class ever to graduate from Kouts High School. Since you are the largest graduating class, let us hope that you make the greatest accomplishments of any class. Secondly, the class of 1965 is graduating in the centennial year of the Kouts Community. May the class of 1965 set an excellent example for all classes for the next one hundred years. If it does, and I believe it will, Kouts High School will become doubly endeared in the hearts of its friends and patrons. WILLIAM E.
