Class Poem Katherine Benson with her clothes so new, Is on her way to old Purdue. Leslie Birky has College in mind, Success in life we’re sure he’ll find. Wes Birky drives a little red Ford. When he steps on the gas, PRAISE THE LORD. In almost all activities Ruth Cannon belonged, With her leadership and dependability she can’t go wrong. John Clarke, a good dancer he may be. His plans consist of joining the Army. Jerri Dusek, known as Du. There isn’t anything she won’t do. Barry Fritz is quite a sport, A girl from Portage he does court. To own Heinold’s Elevator is Jim’s goal. To him college comes first we all know. Dick Hiatt, our plumber to be. When your pipes leak, him you’ll see. Madeline Herma, short and slim, Over lile’s road we re sure she’ll skim. Virginia Jahnz has only one need, To be with her one and only, Jim Reed. Pat Kasl could be a scholar if she tried. But everyone knows that she would rather be a bride. Glen Kneifel, our City Service man, No one knows what he has planned. Bill Kerns, a clown indeed. As an engineer we know he’ll succeed. Pauline Luthi, our winner of D. A. R. With the help of I. U. we hope she’ll go far. Owen Martin, a gentleman beyond compare, Is a guy with black, curly hair. Laura Maul, our star cheerleader. All will agree, you can’t beat her. At the I. G. A. Larry Maxwell can always be found. For Valpo Tech he is bound. A soldier in rank Don Miller wants to be. A born philosopher and liked by all is he. A model Nancy Miller has the shape to be. But she can’t be convinced of this you see. Sam Miller is a preacher’s son. His fights with Betty are never done. Verna Nuest’s time is well spent. Helping Mrs. T. find where the money went. Vernon Nuest, our crop judging man. To be a successful farmer is his plan. Betty Oswald plans to be a nurse. Parts of Anatomy she will search. Nan Olson has Purdue in mind. With her brains and beauty she will do fine, To be with Sherm on his Wheatfield farm, Sharon Reinhardt would give her right arm. Val Schultz, known to many as Moose, Our food is hidden when he’s on the loose. John Stewart is Air Force bound. From his garage has come many a strange sound. Bev Tucker has dramatics in mind, Between LaCrosse and Kouts she does fine. Don Upton, better known as Skip, Of life’s pleasures we know he’ll sip. Bob Taylo is headed out west. He wants to be a pilot, among the best. Butch is Wendell Werner’s nick name. We’re sure He’ll bring I. U. fame.
