BETA CLUB AND ANNUAL STAFF It is with great pleasure that the Beta Club and Annual- Staff present the 1930 WHIPPET to the students and faculty. The Beta Club, an honorary scholastic organiza- tion which was organized in Kosciusko in 1947, has as its motto Let us lead by serving others.” Leading the Beta Club this year are: President, Janie Merle Giles; Vice-President, Susie Jordan; Secretary, Joan Neal; Treasurer, Sally Sloss; Executive Committee, Lucy Love Wallace and Sammie Ellen Oden; Program Committee, Betty Jo Smith, Betty Ann Rigby, Mary Virginia O'Neal; Social Committee, Helen Power, Frances Jo Peacock, Gloria Hartness. The 1930 members are; Frances Ivey, Joan Shcrrard, Alice Bailey, Marene Pender, David Fowler, Bobbie Duncan, Mary Comfort, Martha Comfort, Charles Braswell, Johnny Turner, Buster Oliver, Tommie Lacey, Sylvia Bailey, Katherine Flint, Julie Irving and Margaret Nell Powell. A B” average is necessary for admittance to the Beta Club. Eligible this year are: Eugene Ellis, H. R. Fraiser, Pat Curtis, Sara Nell Fultz, Charlotte Owens, Clara B. Tolleson, Charlotte Maddox, Jimmy Graves, Earl Guyton, Tommie Hollingsworth, Reba Lindsay, Dorothy Ann Moody, Floyce Reynolds, Betty Robbins, Ann Sloss, Martha Smith and Ouida Williams. Combined with the Beta Club are the following members who composed the Annual Staff: Allen Abies, Hendrix Brcntz, Bonnie Sue Wilder, Morgan Guess, Fay Ivey, Irene Jones, and Yvonne Sweatt. Mrs. George Ray, Sponsor of the Beta Club and Annual, wishes to express her appreciation to every member of the Annual Staff for their diligent effort that they have put forth to make a success of this annual, and especially to Allen Abels who has done most of the art work for THE WHIPPET.
