Seniors Begin Wfith graduation approaching, the senior class looked to the future with expectation and on the past with satisfaction. They entered the halls of KHS in the fall of 1965 for the first time. Orientation day was helpful but failed to cover all the problems these seniors met during their sophomore year of high school. By attending their first formal dances and participating in club activities, the students developed new friendships and encountered valuable experiences. Their junior year proved to be the important one. Pre-Sat and National Merit Tests began college-bound students prepar- ing for their school acceptance. The first election of class officers led to the planning of the annual junior-Senior Re- ception, given for graduating seniors. By September of ,67 the stu- dents, senior year had finally arrived. Many approached this time with college and jobs uppermost in their minds. They completed plans of higher edu- cation by taking SAT and achievement tests for college admissions. The final year of high school brought numerous activities that were exclusive to the graduating seniors such as the Senior Safari and the Final Fling. As June 7th drew near, many pondered what the fu- ture would hold for them. Taking a break from class business, senior class officers, Janet Pyke, treasurerp Gary Carpenter, presidentg Mike Martin, vice-presidentg and Christy Darrell secretary enjoy an invigorating i I game of Twisteri apopularfteenage activity.
