Made Classes Interesting and Rewarding The skill. wisdom. and excellent direction given to Marcia Aldridge and many other art students by Miss Bernice McKinley typi- fies the fine work done by our faculty. The friendliness of Miss Dorothy Thornburgh almost made English bear- able for Mabel Goldsberry and many other students. Certainly her fine guid- ance as a counselor will always be remembered. lt wasn't unusual to see a scurry of galloping scholars in the halls just before the final bell. Occasionally, we could even spot a teacher trip- ping around the corner in an attempt to reach the classroom before that buzz of conversation seeped into the corrider-we all had so much to talk about during the tive-minute break between classes. Having tinally situated ourselves and our belongings in the habitual position for the session, we were quickly enveloped by the engrossing task of conquering new frontiers of learning. Wie learned so much in our classrooms Awe learned to study individually and together: we learned to work togetherg we learned to apply our know- ledge and our experiences together to improve our ability to adjust to society. Our growth to- gether was greatly advanced by the daily events in our classrooms. Page a

. . . The Wildcats at Every ame On Friday evenings we shared popcorn and excitement together while watching our gridiron heroes go into action. We wanted to help tackle that fullback! VVe wanted to give that shot-put a mighty heave! We wanted to drop that ball in the bucket or grab that rebound. But we were assigned our positions in the grandstand, a position we filled together, a position we filled enthusiastically and punctually for each game. Even if the odds looked big, we cheered our team onward. Yes, our job was a big one, but together we did our job well. The sideline strategy of Coaches Robert Hamilton and Robert Bushong paid off as the 37 members of the varsity com- pleted a 8-3 season. 12 4 E '
