Latin Club's biggest event was their Saturnalia. At this event initiates were sold as slaves. Other activities were selling suckers and donating money to the United Fund. The purpose of Spanish Club was to teach students about the customs of the Spanish speaking people. To foster this purpose, Spanish Club held many money making activities such as spon- soring a dance and holding a rummage sale. Girls League was one of Kofa's most active clubs. The club held their annual big sister-little sister tea to welcome the incoming freshmen girls. Their other plans included selling cokes at all basket- ball games and giving Thanks- giving and Christmas baskets to needy families. Also at Christmas Girls League held a rummage sale. Another function of the club was to sponsor activities and programs for Kofa girls. One program that Girls League sponsored caused much contro- versy. The club brought in speak- ers from Yuma's women's liber- ation organization, and it was weeks before people stopped talk- ing about it. Members at- tended the Fall Leadership Con- ference in October and later on in the year attended the State Convention at A.S.U., in which members competed in different business fields. For fund-raising activities the club held a bake sale and sponsored the Ugly Man Dance.
