Varsiig wrestling team coached bg Salerno With t h e 1970-71 Varsity Wrestling Season over, Coach Sam Salerno feels nothing but opti- mism for next year's team. Ac- coring to Salerno, all of his best wrestlers are coming back next year. Two wrestlers, Senior Ralph Richardson and Junior Heavy- weight Dan Prickett qualified for state competition. Coach Salerno listed several games as outstanding although his team lost to Yuma three times. Listed as outstanding were the El Centro, Coronado, South lVloun- tain, Catalina, Scottsdale and Chandler matches. J V Wrestlers work verg hard for vioforg This year's J.V. Wrestling team was coached by Mr. Lot. They had 12 matches. These boys all work' ed hard and gave their best to win. All of them learned by their mis- takes. A few of the boys will go to wrestling camps during the summer and learn new techni- ques, and come back next year and try to make Varsity. The team had an over all record of 3 wins and 8 losses with one forfeit when Scottsdale cancelled. This was Richard Lot's first year as a coach at Kofa and he worked with the boys every day.
