I+ is said fhaf Kofans eat as well as kings The cafeteria staff served food fit for kings. They served two types of lunches-a la carte and regular. An average of seven hun- dred students went through the lunch lines daily. The cafeteria was in its twelfth year under the direction of Emma Ohlson. The snack shack was directed by Nlrs. Veda Hefner who was assisted by lVlrs. Harding. There were sixteen students working in the snack shack this year. On an average, they sold one hundred thirty sandwiches and one hun- dred sixty-eight hotdogs and thirteen hundred sodas. f . ku., ,V lVlrs. Edlund who was assisted by lVlrs. Tuttle. The li- brary h el d twenty thousand bpoks and one hundred maga- zines. For the teachers there was a professional collection of teach- ing aids, and for the students there was a new collection of paperbacks. BOOKSTORE The Kofa High School Book- store was a very familiar place to all the Kings. Students were able to purchase books and necessary supplies at the bookstore. Re- turning for a second year as manager was Terry J. Beckett. Her most important job was or- dering all the text books for the year. Her other tasks included taking care of club deposits and receipts, an d ordering various school magazines. NURSE Always on call to help a Kofa student was lVlrs. Ellen Saxe, the school nurse. Besides the every day care of the students lVlrs. Saxe administered vision, hear- ing, and tuberculin skin tests. Each day an average of thirty five students required Some TVD9 of medical assistance from lVlrs. Saxe which made for a busy first year at Kofa. She was also club sponsor for the Future Nurses.
