-Ui Captain Brance J. Parker, a native of Cadillac, Michigan, graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He was commissioned through the Regular Naval ROTC Program in 1964. His initial sea tour was in USS RICHARD S. EDWARDS (DD-950) where he served as Damage Control Assistant and Main Propulsion Assistant. Other sea duty assignments have included Operations Officer in USS FOX (CG-33) and Executive Officer in USS BARRY (DD-933). Captain Parker served as Operations and Executive Officer of River Section 532 in Vietnam. Other tours have included Aide Executive Assistant to the Chief National Security Agency Pacific, Defense Intelligence Agency, Service Force Sixth Fleet Staff, and duty in the office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Directorate for Plans, Policy and Operations (OP-60). Captain Parker wears the Bronze Star with Combat V with gold star in lieu of second award, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation and various campaign and service medals. - b OFWmR Commander Rice was born in Eureka, California on May 12, 1945. He was graduated from California State University at Chico where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography. He was commissioned Ensign, United States Navy Reserve in June 1967. Commander Rice has served at sea in both the Pacific and Atlantic Fleets. His initial sea assignment was in USS CHARLES BERRY (DE-1035) where he served as Combat Information Center Officer and Weapons Officer. Subsequent assignments at sea included tours as Weapons Officer in USS EDWARD MCDONNELL (FF-1043), Executive Officer in USS ALBERT DA VID (FF-1050), and USS NORTON SOUND (AVM-1), and Commanding Officer of USS PLUCK (MSO-464). Commander Rice ' s assignments ashore include Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer on the Staff of Naval Destroyer School, Newport, Rhode Island, and duty in Washington, D.C., on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations serving in the Surface Warfare Division of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Surface Warfare. Commander Rice is married to the former Angela Aird Feiler of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They have a twin son and daughter, Christopher and Kimberly. COMMANDER MARVIN R. RICE
