MARCHING BAND Before the school year was even well under way the marching band trudged nightly to the stadium for one solid hour of practice. As they watched those first few awk- ward practices, people began to wonder what had become of the good bands Knoxville used to have. However, under thc competent direction of Mr. Harold Hall. the band steadily improved until they were an organization for the towns- people to be proud of. Of couise the place where the band did most of its performing was at the home football games The crowds were thrilled by the snappy cadence the gold trimmed black uniforms and the familiar strains of Onward Knoxville 'X different routine was performed at every football game. The exacting pre- cision of these routines was one of the things that helped to make this year's band outstanding. On Sadie Hawkins day the band mem- bers joined with the rest of the Dogpatch- ers to march in the annual parade. Though bare-footed and bearded, they still maintained their usual peppy step. Tiring though marching band is, all the senior members could not help but be sad at the thought of the end of the foot- ball season and their marching careers The remaining band members were overjoyed to reach the end of the mai ch ing season but bv next fall they will be looking forward to the opening football game with eager anticipation 'TY 'TY Pk l0Vl1 F1 x 11 S1 1 11111111 f- 11111 l1 1 1 1.111 x 11x x x 111 HX ll 11x 1 1 ll 111 1 1 11 1 ll 1 S P u lllkN P11111x VM'-sniail Il D 1 ll 1w111 usin 1.11 ll 1x 1111.-1 QV vs 11.-11 1 ul Cl ll ll FUND IUW P llllll f 1111pl11ll If 1 II ll 11 11111 1 1111 1 1Vb s x11 ll '-1 llqll 1rs ll ll v ar 1 NT VN Will! 1 S 1 1 ll Z4 111 llllqll 1 1111 1 If .
