CLASS T OF 1957 Gathered on the front steps are the freshman class officersi Wendell Stamps, advisor, Pam Beecher, Stu- dent Council representative, Marcia Randall, secretary-treasurer, Jim Phil- blad, Student Council representative, George Clark, vice-president, John Bowman, president, and Patricia White, advisor. Seventy-seven members of the class of '57 entered the halls of Kl-l.S. in Septem- ber, and made their first and faltering steps toward a goal long awaited. These green freshies were greeted by eager, vengeful seniors, anxiously awaiting initiation day. Sharon Washabaugh and Dean Rader were chosen queen and king of initiation on the evening of September l5, John Bowman led the class through their first year assisted by vice-president, George Clark and secretary-treasurer, Marcia Randall. Pam Beecher and Jim Philblad were chosen as Student Council representatives. Their willing sponsors were Mrs, Patricia White and Mr, Wendell Stamps, Carolyn Steck represented the freshmen as at- tendant to the second maid of honor in the l953 homecoming. Arriving at school are Rosalie Folger, Mary Con- dreay, Patsy Dawson, Mary Booton, Ardathe Stone, Wesley Carter, La Ray Pruitt, Richard Dredge, and Mickey Taylor, Chosen from this class to help support the ath- letic boys as Junior I-ligh Varsity cheerleaders were Pam Beecher, Marcia Randall, and Ardathe Stone Many freshmen were initiated into various clubs. Several boys represented their class on the Junior l-ligh Pony and Varsity squad. They proved to be of great value in many ways. The freshmen also sponsored bake sales and various other activities to raise money for their class treasury. Buying a tastee-freeze at noon are Barbara l-lutson, Leanne Shreves, Connie l-larter, Judy Anderson, Pat Carlson, Jim Mcliay, Bob Elledge, and Jim Marks. i T T l i

Standing at the end of the hall bee tween periods are Judy Schreco, Joe Markley, Earl Sutlitt, Christine Pur- chase, Carol Peterson, Charles Sopher, Doris Shreeves, Mary Jean Murphy, and Stanley Kilby. Waiting for the back door to open at noon are Dean Rader, Rollin Roselle, Pat Grady, Charles Sopher, Frank Olin, Betty Winchel, Sharon Washa- baugh, Shirley Booton, and Merle Morse.
