Stand ng in trcnt ot the school are the sophomore class otticers Jack Manuel, advisor, Ernie Bybee, Student Council representative, Judy Block, Secretary-treasurer, Dick Totten, president, Sally Humphreys, vice- president, Jill Block, Student Council representative and Crace Van den l-leurk, advisor CLASS OF 1956 With enthusiasm and zest, the class of '56 have novy successtully carried out the many interests, responsibilities, tun and trolic, and studies ot their second year at K H S, they were led successfully by Dick Totten, along vvith the help of Sally l-lumphreys, vice-president, Judy Block, secretary-treasurer, and Jill Block and Ernie Bybee, Student Council representatives Pretty, brovvn-eyed Ann Motter vvas chosen soph- omore candidate tor homecoming attendant. She attended the tirst maid ot honor. Four peppy and active cheerleaders came from this class JoAnn l-lughbanks, Judy Block, Jenny Lou Rose, and Lynda Svveborg Three smart stepping maiorettes hailing trom this class vvere Pat Miller, Sharon Janes, and Jo Ann Hughbanks Patty Lalzollette was greatly missed by every- one when she vvas stricken early in the year vvith polio Leaning on a car in the parking lot are Delores Shenaut, Ruth Ann Cus- tafson, lvan Lasley, Dan McMullin, Don Powell, Frank Walker, Sharon James, and Virginia Smith. l tl Many sophomore boys participated in competitive and intramural sports and activities, Several proved to be quite valuable on both the iunior varsity and the varsity squads, As a means ot raising money for the class treas- ury, the sophomores sponsored such activities as concessions at ball games and bake sales Mrs, Crace Van den Heurk and Mr, Jack Manuel, as advisors, contributed much tovvard the success ot this class,
