Sharples In the fall of 1916 the Parent-Teachers, Association was organized with the following officers: President, Mrs. Albert Wahlburgg First Vice-President, Mrs. F. O. Gottrickg Second Vice-President, Mrs. George Sherman g Secretary, Mrs. L. C. Wilsong Treasurer, Mrs. W. W. lVlcBrideg and Director, Mrs. Robert Forsythe. The association has many objects and aims which are enlarged upon each year. It tries to make child Welfare better in the school, church, home and communityg to bring the school and home into closer relationship g to bring about cooperation and understanding among the teachers and parentsg and to develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for every child the highest advantages in physical, mental, moral, and spiritual education. The P. T. A. meets monthly with each grade furnishing one program during the year. A program committee selects speakers to talk on pertinent subjects. In February much interest is shown in a program given for the fathers. Parents, teachers, and all those interested in its activities are encouraged to attend. At Christmas time they furnished a tree and treats for each grade.
