E l0R CLA S HI 'l'0RY In September, 1953, the students gathered in the freshman homeroom to start a new school year we then had about thlrty f1ve members ln our class elected Mr Tiel, class advlsor, Lorna McCarty, Presldent, Cecile Caswell, v1ce presldent, Betty Towne, treasurer, and June Loop, secretary Ne had no money to start with, and ended w1th none we started our sophmore year w1th about thlrty students Mr McCrea was elected advlsor, George Slbley, presldent, Nancy Fulton, vlce presldent, JoAnne Kennedy, treasurer, and Alton Tuttle, secretary Durlng the course of the year, we lost one or two members, but we galned Chrls Reed, fran Hermon She 1S stlll here to graduate w1th us In our junior year, Mr Collison was class adv1sor , George S1bley, pres 1dent, James Wh1tlIl3I'Sh, v1ce presldent, Ceclle Caswell, secretary, and Nancy Fulton, treasurer, and we had a new member, Patsy Harr1ngton we had very little money to begin with, but we took actlon Gu1CklY, and earned through fudge sales food sales, and selling shrubbery The BBHIOPS helped w1th the prom, so we cleared some of lt For us, the 1n blue and whlte Nancy Fulton ended pleasantly and w1th br1ght In the fall of '55, we once halls, as we trooped back to our prom was a big event The gym was decorated and George Sibley were attendants The year plans for our sen1or year more broke the summer s1lence of the Knox old homeroom, eager to start our senlor year Th1s year, we really put our noses to the grlndstone to earn money '1th our advisor, Coach Whalen, to gu1de us, we planned and sold and worked, for the money we needed for our tr1p to New York in May Our pres1dent was Lorna McCarty, vice pres1dent, Chris Reed, secretary, Cec1le Caswell, and treasurer, Patsy Harrmngton Our senior play was U0nce In Every Family U At the end of these happy years, we are grateful to parents, advlsors, faculty, and all those who have encouraged and gulded us, and we thank God for the hope of a brlght future
