This cover has usually been of heavy poster paper We hope that each year will bring further new lmprovenxents to Knox Knews RADIO CLUB This year the seventh grade Radio Club elected .Toan Thurstln President I-IowardGotham Vice President, Harold Peabody Secretary,JaxnesRlder Treasurer At the beginning of the year we presented a radio play The Pied Piper of Hamelln. Also we worked on a play called The Court of Hearts We enjoyed the Radio Club very much and appreciate Mrs Armstrong s will lngness to help C ORREPONDENC E CLUB The Correspondence Club organized through the International Students Society of Hillsboro Oregon last fall has a membershxp of fifteen The officers are Darrell Fraser President, Helen Lalone Vice President, and Gladys Colton Sec retary Mrs Armstrong is the Club advisor The purpose of this organizatxon is to foster friendship and promote world peace with students of other countries Addresses are secured from headquarters and members correspond with students of their own age group xn other lands Let ters were received thxs year from Austria Spain Africa Portugal Canada France England and Germany The letters received were brought to the Club meetings and dxscussed One of our most interesting meetings occurred when Mr VanSant spoke to us on his recent war experiences ln France He brought many war souvemrs to illus trate hxs talk A clothlngf drive for needy people overseas was undertaken in the sprxng I started on February 14 and ended March 14 During that time we packed exght duffle bags of clean used clothing to be shipped to the World Church Service Ln New York City This organization maintains clothxng distribution centers xn Europe and Asxa The Club is very grateful for the ixne support of the people in thzs distract for the drive The members have expressed a desire to see films showxng life and customs in other countrxes As the annual goes to press we are plannmg to secure such films as these They will be shown durxng actzvity period and will serve as a basxs for dlscussxon Elan! llazffl.
