Awwwb Wimwv Ollie Lockridge Receiving the Ben Bowen award is one of the highest ambitions of every Knox High School boy who has participated in athletics. This award is given to the stu- dent whose record exemplifies clean living, sportsmanship, athletic ability, support of schools activities and good scholarship. He is selected with careful consideration by a committee consisting of all iunior and senior high school rincipals and coaches, the superintendent of schools and a representative of the school board. This highly honored and coveted award is given in memory of the late Ben Bowen, an outstanding Knox graduate who sacrificed his life for his country in Korea. Ollie Lockridge was the i957 winner of this award. Besides having a high scholastical average he played Varsity football and basketball for two years, and was on the track teams two years, showing outstanding ability in these sports. He participated in other school activities, he was well known for his good character, and we can be iustly proud to have known him. I4
