Many exciting things have happened this year, but the biggest event without a doubt was the completion and dedication of our new gym. We were also honored to be hosts for the sectional tourney. In this book we have tried to present pictures and stories of the school year which in the future will bring back to you memories of old Knox High School. Z Y bl I Due to the untiring efforts of Mr. Over- holser and the school board, the Knox school system has as fine buildings as any town of its size in the state of Indiana. Our most recent was the new gym of which we are extremely proud. In addition to the part that he has played in the building program, Mr. Overholser has always worked for co- operation among the teachers and between the teachers and the student body. We feel that this is one of the things that make Knox schools great. We upper class students also will always remember Mr. Overholser for his inspirational talks at pep sessions, and other programs. '2- m ,l'Jf.k..A. S MR. LARAMORE, HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL As we sat in our home rooms the first day of this school year, Announcement please, announcement please, an old familiar phrase was heard over the loud speaker system. Of course the person speaking was none other than our principal, Mr. Laramore. He was on hand through the year to help us students with any problems we had and advise us as to which subjects and courses we should follow to fit our own personal needs. We are sure every one has enjoyed and benefited by these last three years under his leadership. .ml MR. FIELDS, JUNIOR I-HGH PRINCIPAL We were all happy to get back againthis year and see our genial principal, Mr. Fields. In addition to guiding and supervising us he sponsors the student council and student patrol. Although our principal always has a million dollar smile, we know we must toe the mark when he says, I desire a conference with you. 1... 3' 1' 'ff 1 ll, 5 -Ni V. , VI x lg i of 'H 9 x yu X K 1 if if 4 'Y It f 4 qt S J ,KKK 'Q' ,mg 1 -I 'Sf' :',,,f -cmk. It was a hil- arious comedy about an author from Chicago who took his family to live on the farm of his deceased uncle in the Ozarks. His wife and older daughter had quite a time adjusting themselves to life in this backwoods community, but the younger children were very thrilled with their new adventure. The house was quarantined when a neighbor girl brought in an epidemic of scarlet fever. It was then that the whole family joined their father in the daily tasks and chores and discovered that the bright lights of Chicacgo weren't necessary for a happ home life. The play which was irected by Mr. Saunders proved, to be a huge success. 30 f LUCINDA ANDREWS, Jeanne Schacht X 1 1 ' OFFICERS TOP ROW Mr Slmmons Mr Hambhn Mr Cook Sponsors MIDDLE ROW Mrs Foust Sponsor Sandra Johnson Secretary Tom Karter Treasurer Don Derengowskr Presldent FRONT ROW Audrey Schuster V1ce Presrdent Junrors we can look back on a year fllled w1th more work, more ac t1v1t1es, and more fun than we experrenced as Sophomores We were rm mensely thrrlled when we caught the frrst frlrmpse of our class rrngs and were equally proud as we wore them the rest of the year Our class was well represented 1n each school act1v1ty Many of us held off1ces and recexved awards rn these orgamzatmns The Jumor play was a huge success, and we began mak1ng plans early 1n the year for the Jumor Senror prom whrch we sponsor 1n May It 15 w1th eagerness yet w1th a lrttle regret that we look forward to berng Senlors next year 31 so ,ccnn,s we y,,,4. .rry, 7 r. We also have put on programs for the school on special occasions. Each year a few of us enter the solo and ensemble contests, and later in the year the chorus enters the contest as a whole. This year Dianne Suits won first in her solog Judy Palmer, Jeanne Schacht, and Eileen Knabe, in the triog Judy Palmer and Jeanne Schacht, in the duet. Our annual Spring Concert was a great success and many enjoyed the formal dance after- wards. Our last performance of the year will be when we sing at graduation.
