DEDICATION ADM. E.R. ZUMWALT, JR., CNO The Navy, as with most large organizations has problems due to the size and complexity of it ' s operation. The man on the ship and his family, and the Admiral in the Pentagon have almost no means of exchanging ideas, hence a communications gap of a sort. Rules and regu- lations can become outdated, thus making life aboard a ship somewhat difficult. The present Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral E.R. ZUM- WALT, JR. has attacked problems such as these and has made giant strides toward their solution. Through his Z- Grams and numerous visits to Naval ships and stations he has made contact with, and earned the respect of Naval personnel at all levels. His ambition, interest and concern make him a respected human being rather than just a name on a message. Therefore, we the men of USS KNOX, DESTROYER ESCORT 1052, dedicate this our second cruise book to ADM. E.R. ZUMWALT, JR., CNO, USN and thank him for his continuing efforts in improving Navy life.
