OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT U. p. A. Dur Operations Officer The operations department consists of eight different ratings. As with all the departments of the ship, operations is divided into two divisions. OC division is Radiomen and Signalmen who provide ship to ship and ship to shore communications, the Quartermasters handling naviga- tion, and the office crew of Yeomen and Personnelmen. The ships Postal Clerk rounds out this divided division. 01 division only has two different ratings, the Radarmen and the Electronic Technicians. The Radarmen are responsible for the early detection of air and surface threats and help in the navigation of the ship. Last, but not least, are the Electronic Techs who have the respon- sibility of keeping the departmental electronic gear in good working order. The entire dept. under Lt. Dur, works hard with a Can Do spirit.
