FOREWORD I have decided to devote this page to a few words about three people who, like Mr. Win- chester, deserve recognition. The first of these is Mrs. E. F. Branton. In the years Mrs. Bran- ton was here, she endeared herself to all the students she taught, and she taught many. As elementary school principal, she made our elementary school the finest in the area. I treas- ure her friendship and wish her the best in her new endeavor. Another person deserving recognition is Mr. E. N. Arnett. Mr. Arnett has been in Knox City three years, and in those three years he has directed our band to two sweepstake awards, and by the time this is published, we hope our third. The Director of Bands at Midwestern University called the Knox City band the best class A band in the state last year, and al- though Mr. Arnett will not admit it, he was responsible. If it sounds as if I am bragging, I am, and I am also proud that Knox City has such a fine musician in charge of its bands. Last, but certainly not least, I would like to recognize Mrs. H. D. Bankston. Despite her full teaching load, Mrs. Bankston finds time to take charge of putting the annual together each year. It is a huge job, and her infinite patience with the annual staff has never failed to amaze me. I could never have handled my job as editor without her help, and so I take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Bankston on behalf of the entire annual staff. Finally, I would like to express the hope that all of you will enjoy the annual as much as we have enjoyed putting it together, and that the gold covers will not turn green. MM Patrick Shannon, Editor

DEDICATION The 1966 Greyhound is dedicated to Mr. B. R. Winchester. Mr. Winchester holds B.S. and M.E. degrees from North Texas State University, but beyond his education, he combines the qualities of love of subject and dedication to teaching that exemplify the truly excellent teacher. Mr. Winchester is never too busy to help one of his students with any problem he may have, and he spends many hours of his free time preparing make-up work or simply explaining a difficult topic. Through his untiring efforts, Mr. Win- chester gives Knox City students as fine an education in science as is available in any school of its size. Knox City High School is truly fortunate to have such a man on its faculty, and the students are fortunate to have this man as a teacher.
