'FO-REWORD I have decided to devote this page to a few words about three people who, like Mr. Win- chester, deserve recognition. The first of theseis Mrs. E. F. Branton. In the years Mrs. Bran- ton was here, she endeared herself to all the students she taught, and she taught many. As elementary school principal, she made our elementary school the finest in the area. I treas- ure her friendship and wish her the best in her new endeavor. Another person deserving recognition is Mr. E. N. Arnett. Mr. Arnett has been in Knox City three years, and in those three years he has directed' our band to two sweepstake awards, and by the time this is published, we hope our third. The Director of Bands at Midwestern University called the Knox City band the best class A band in the state last year, and al- though Mr. Arnett will not admit it, he was responsible. If it sounds as if I am bragging, I am, and I am also proud that Knox City has such a fine musician in charge of its bands. Last, but certainly not least, I would like to recognize Mrs. H. D. Bankston. Despite her full teaching load, Mrs. Bankston finds time to take charge of putting the annual together each year. It is a huge job, and her infinite patience with the annual staff has never failed to amaze me. I could never have handled my job as editor without her help, and so I take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Bankston on behalf of the entire annual staff. Finally, I would like to express the hope that all of you will enjoy the annual as much as we have enjoyed putting it together, and that the gold covers will not turn green. u Patrick Shannon, Editor at-f 'VY' Phill. wkn' 'MIL'
