The purpose of this club was to pro- mote safety within the school and community. The civic-minded members sponsored bake sales to raise money for their many planned projects which included making the gym and stairways safer. Students for Safety was a welcome addition to KNHS's many activities. Membership in the National Honor Society was based on the charac- teristics of leadership, scholarship, character, and service. The ener- getic members sponsored the Citi- zen of the Month award, Letters of Commendation to honor roll students, a Christmas party for underprivileged children, and a picnic with the Student Council.
