Long hours of enduring practice quick- ened the reactions of the athletes and prepared them for future games. The players who received injuries continued to give moral support to the boys who were still fighting. The Student Council planned dress for the week which included a dress down day to show how bad the Pleasant Hill Roosters would look after their defeat, a dress up day to show how good the Panthers would look through- out the game, a day of mourning for the Roosters, and fi- nally a school colors day to show we were with our team all the way. Our team went onto the field with great enthusiasm and came off at the end of the game with thejoyous pride of victory. The Homecoming dance was attended by a record crowd. Everyone unwound in true victory spirit to the sounds of the Rising Sun and replenished their energy with apple punch and cookies. Do you see what I see? fa s XS if X With the glory of being veterans to the Panther regime comes a certain pride in being slightly superior. The sophomores joined with the upperclassmen in ath- letics and discovered a greater desire to unite with other classes to produce a more favorable high school in every aspect. Sophomores were allowed to exhibit their sense of maturity to a greater degree. They had more repre- sentation in organizations and extra- curricular activities-a reward which comes with knowledge and experience. Their involvement established the spirit within the Class of '73 which spurred them ahead to accept the responsibility that comes with leadership. Sophomore officers are Mark Blevins, president, Cheryl Neitzert, secretary, Linda Schuck, treasurer, Steve Elmore, vice-president. OPHO ORES MOVIN' X . Adams, David ft a to .. The Juniors skillfully learned to ac- quire a sense of observation as they realized that within an amazingly short span of time, they would be the superior force. Within the bounds of their 135 members lay a keen de- sire for superior knowledge, out- standing athletics, and notable achievement. They strived through- out the year to represent their school with enthusiasm and make secretive plans for a spectacular Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. Their unification of varied types of individuals pro- duced a cross-section of mankind, enthusiastic and spirited to such a degree that the Class of '72 answered the beckoning call of KNHS with stu- dents willing to become involved. Each of the four grades at Knob High has its own place, with Senior being the last and most important step. Even though the Class of '71 will soon break the continuity of the steps, they will leave their mark. Its members have assumed numerable responsi- bilities in both scholarship and extracurric- ular phases of school life. Seniors of '71 have experienced the be- Wilderment of the first day in their Fresh- man year, the opening of new doors in their Sophomore year, the insurmountable pride of seeing a job well done on Prom night in their Junior year, and the joy and excite- ment of baccalaureate and graduation day to finish the sequence. Condensed into pic- tures and words theyuare all that remain of the 1970-71 school year. For all who read the KNOBNA, these elements are the keys to-more exact and personal memories. Q - . Throughout the year KNHS students harnessed their enthusi- -asm' to produce devoted teams in all fields of athletics.,The spirit of the team was transmittedlo the spectators+gripping themin the ecstatic thrill of victory and the numbing agony following defeat. I , ,g I ' f Q Students became involved in various organizations and exhib ited their spirit? by taking active parts in school and community affairs. , g . , Scholastically, each student progressed to a higher level. With grade cards came expressions of disappointment for some and, for others, contentment at having achieved their goals. Altera- tions in the curriculum, along with fine instruction resulted in a well-rounded student body. ' The freshmen- are more mature, wiser, and better informed than were they when they began the year. The sophomores g have become upperclassmen attempting to fulfill their chal- 7 lengeqof becoming better citizens. The juniors are pursuing their last high school achievement-taking the place of the Class of '71, For the seniors, the .year began with the joy and excite- ment of getting rings and pictures. Then as graduation came - 7 closer, the happiness turned to sadness of leaving the 'school they love and -to apprehension of facing the years ahead. A .clw . ' 1 I M , A f I. I .
