ADMINISTRATIO An end of an era was reached, by the schools of Knights- town, Wayne and Greensboro Townships, as July 31st changed toAugust1, 1956. These schools had each opera- ted as separate units since the beginning of the public school program in Indiana, with pride in the traditions and accomplishments that so definitely marked their progress in training the boys and girls of the years gone by. Any sadness or regret that exists for the loss of our sepa- rate identities is mingled with hope for advantage and larger opportunity under united effort, consolidated funds, and expanded curriculum, The new organization, Southwestern Consolidated Schools, is a rugged organization made up of people with similar background, community and educational interests. The governing body is a school board of seven members, who are representative, responsible, and influential citizens. Opportunities offered by this program warrant the respect and co-operation of everyone -- pupils, parents, teachers, and school officials. C662 J
