With the fulfillment of the student body’s needs in mind, the student coun¬ cil enacted many student government projects. During the fall season a code committee for school dress and grooming was appointed for the first time. Also, the council purchased a juke box, outfitted the band with blazers, and obtained a popcorn machine for the Pepperette Club. In giving equal attention to both the hall and gym, two Christmas trees were decorated and displayed. Kathy Hollingworth, who was selected during the winter season as Knappa s March of Dimes Chairman for 1967, worked closely with the student council in planning various projects during the drive. As in previous years, the student council planned the annual May Day activities. On May 10 the student body officers gave up their positions when they ad ministered the oath of office to their successors. 39

The National Honor Society held pie sales during the school year to raise funds for the club treasury. Twelve new members were chosen from the Junior and Senior classes on the basis of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Most of these students had been pledged previously. A formal installation of new mem¬ bers was held December 6 in the library. Several members gave speeches on the qualities of Honor Society members, and Mr. Richard Knotts, Warrenton schools superintendent, gave the main address. New members signed the roll, recieved carnations, and were sworn into the club. A skit staged April 25 in the gym announced the selection of five pledges to the Honor Society. These pledges, a small per¬ centage of the Sophomore class, were so honored because they have shown themselves to be promising candidates for the club. Pledges Sherry Tygart, Steve Aho, Corinne Dorvinen, Steve Wingenbach, Lori Jo McFetridge. 41
