At the student body meeting that day, baseball coach Mr. George introduced his Northwest champs to the student body. Don Floyd, co-captain of the team, presented a baseball that was signed by the team to the student body president Carl Salo, who accepted it on behalf of the school. The signed baseball was placed in the school's case. The seniors were the overall winners in the baseball games played during the day. In the first games the seniors defeated the sophomores and the freshmen defeated the juniors. Following their win over the freshmen, the seniors played the final games, winning against a team composed of teachers alumni, and visitors.
