38 Pencils Pencils I 'm sure glad pencils grow on trees because I use a lot of them, said Steven Zeiller, freshman. re you tired of pens that won't work and ink blotches on papers? Many people were, so they switched to a more practical writing tool - the pencil. For classes like World Geography and Art, the pencil was helpful because students could create with one end and correct with the other. We've all used pencils since grammar school days, whether they were fat or thin, red or yellow or even some with designs such as alligators and bears. Without a pencil l'd have to start a lot of things over because I make many mistakes, said Anna Medford, sophomore. My hat is off to the person who invented the pencil!
