Efficient and Proud ight adults controlling a school with 2700 kids seems like a los- ing battle, but Principal Ken Laird and the seven assistant principals, in- famously known as the Klein High School Administration, combined their efforts and tackled the problem. As principal, Ken Laird was responsible for just about anything scholastic that came to mind. For him, planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities of the high school were all in a day's work. A major force in the school's effi- cient functioning was the assistant principals. Each of the seven assis- tant principals handled specific !' , N I 188 Principals problems such as discipline, main- tenance, security, and student activities. Helping teachers teach through teacher evaluations, inservices and promoting a good student attitude was the main problem administra- tion dealt with. However, Assistant Principal, George Foster said, We have an excellent supporting cast - teachers, administration, students that work hard - it's just a wonder- ful situation.
