Even under great pressure, Clay remained composed. He had a way with people which immediately made people at ease with him. His staff not only liked him, but they respected his opinion and his talent. When a staff member needed help with a story, Clay was there to lend a hand. He kept the staff moving in the right direction-producing a top quality newspaper for Klein High School. One of Clay 's contributions to every issue was a cleverly written column. Topics were of current interest ranging from serious to semi-serious. Readers also looked forward to reading his feature stories.
