Super Sophs Throttle Their Opponents Coach Ilerh Allen had high hopes for his sophonzore team this year, and he felt that an undefeated season was not out ofthe qziestion, His boys lived up to his expecta- tions with a near-perfect 8-2 record, The sophomores were heaten by their own mistakes in a heartbreaking 7-3 loss to Conroe and a I5-I2 loss at the hands ofMenzorial. Soph Cagers Reign Atop District 16 4 The 1978-79 sophotnore basketball team overcame a slow start to power their way to the district 164A crown. 17-8 overall and 13-I in dislriet 17161.12 the sophoinores had big wins at Cy-Fair and Httnzble. Their only dis- triet loss was to Conroe, 56-49. The team tied for the ehainpionship as jreshinelz, and this year they dedieated themselves to the goal of being sole district champions. The .sophomores used quickness and strong play off the boards to realize their goal. Hard work and the desire to be the best were the keys to a very stzeeess- ftii season.
