Returning with twenty lettermen, eight ofwhieh were starters, Varsity football was off to a good start in 1978. That good start soon became a great season. Three sobho- mores added youth to the team, while thirty-one seniors provided experiences Winning nine often games, Klein ilost only to Conroe 21-20 in the district playojf Yet, after such an exciting and heartbreaking game, they managed to pull it all together to battle back and beat Humble li7-0. When the all-district teams were announced, thirteen KHS players were on the teams. There were eight Kats on the first team and five on tlze second team.
