Dr. Collins Guided KI D Klein Independent School District was indeed fortunate to have Dr. Don Collins as its Superintendent of Schools. Not only was he well-respected in the district, but in the state as well. During Dr. Collins' eight years as super- intendent, he has seen the district grow from 2,000 to 15,000 students. He has foreseen, prepared for, and kept pace with this growth. At the same time, lze has so improved the academic standard of the district tlzat it has attained national respect, KISD, under Dr, Collinslastute leadership, has remained sound educationally and economically. Students, teachers, and parents alike End Dr. Collins to be very receptive, accessible, and easy to talk to. Trustees Justified Votes The main responsibility of Klein 's Board of Trustees was to he effective representing the district's residents who elected them. They did just that. These seven people were very supportive of programs which were designed to meet the needs of students in preparing them for the future. In February voters passed a 360 million school facility bond to keep pace with Klein 's rapid growth. The Board worked with the Administration to help provide information for parents and patrons of the district regarding the election.
