N tagmf Math Isn't Greek to Them Mu Alpha Theta has grown to 110 members who fill the rigid membership requirements of having an 85? average or better in math, and have completed geometry. This year Mu Alpha Theta hosted a Junior High tournament and sold candy for a fund-raising project. Proceeds were used to send club contestants to math tourna- ments. A picnic to celebrate the end of another school year brought the club together for a final meeting. Officers for this year were: Karen McKinley, president, Linda Surdacki, vice president: David McAdow, vice president, Kathy Wells, secretary: Pat Duval, treasurer: and Doug Vermaelen, parliamentarian. Future Engineers Join JETS A tour of NASA, a visit to various oil com- panies, and the participation in the national competition at Texas A8tlVl aided JETS members in gaining a better understanding of technical engineering. The Junior Engi- neering Technical Society helps acquaint the students with engineering techniques and opportunities. Another function of JETS is to obtain scholarships for students.
