t I , French Club Le Monde de France, or the French Club. offers French enthusiasts the opportunity to expand their knowledge of that country. its people, customs. and language, outside ol the classroom. Club members learned the art of French . cuisine through demonstrations of French cooking which included instructions on hovv to make elegant crepes. ln October the group had the opportunity ol dining Faris Fashion at St. lVlichael's restaurant. During the spring, lVlr. Claude Caux, a former pupil of Marcel lvlarceau, hosted a workshop in pantomime. Later, a trip to Lafayette, Louisiana 1 f 'r'vf,,L to observe French influence in this country, was made by club members. lVlrs. Leslie Beaver awaits the marshmallow at the end, Spanish Club Encouraging students to speak Spanish and promoting an interest in the study of the Spanish people and land are the primary aims of the club. This year the members dined at Fiicardo's and celebrated Halloween and Christmas in typical fiesta fashion. Three teenagers from Latin America and a former resident of Venezuela spoke to them in January. The big trip ofthe year was made to San Antonio for Fiesta Days. Mrs. Sue Pope. sponsors the group.
