Mr. Scapple examines his schedule of activities for the day. nf Schzwl Many varied activities are performed by the dean of boys. The dean's office is always open for consultation of problems of all kinds. Broken lockers, lost articles, and per- sonal problems all find their way into the dean's office. Conferences, supervised by the dean's office, between students, teachers, and parents often lead to better relations between the school and the home. Taking care of absenteeism and the writing of per- mits also occupies a large part ofthe dean's time. The general supervision of Boys' Alliance is also directed from the dean's office, This organization provides books and lunches for students who are unable to obtain these necessities for themselves. Giving advice to boys is a frequent occurrence for assistant cleans Dutch French and Glenn Terriere. i7
