The symphony orchestra of KUHS, acclaimed to be one of the finest in the Northwest, was honored this year by playing at the Oregon epuukw I I I I Music Educators state conference held at Bend on September 26th. Membership totaling 63, made this year's orchestra the largest in the history of the school. A popular group in the school and community, the symphony played at many functions throughout the year and climaxed the season with a spring concert featuring the Schumann piano Concerto with Miss Ruth Lobaugh as faculty soloist. 74eq? an ,... KU boasts one of the finest concert bands in the Northwest. The instrumentation of the band and the musicianship of the members is of a high calibre. Band members were very busy throughout the school year with the many different activities of the organization. The football season re- quired a fine marching band capable of putting on interesting and original half time shows. The Pep Band, made up of some thirty selected members of the ...K concert band, provided music for the basketball games.
