He entered the Naval 9ervice through the Aviation Officer Candidate Program and was commissioned as an Ensign in January of 1979. He earned his wings in 1991 and reported to V9-41 for 9-ZA training. Captain Oriscoll's initial fleet assignment was with the 1995 Battle E winning Maulers of V9- 52, where he completed two lndian Ocean deploy- ments and served as the 9afety ing transition training in the A ln 1996, Captain Driscoll reported once again to the 'Tyunslingersn of VFA-104 as Executive Officer. The squadron deployed aboard U99 THEODOKE ROO9EVELT CCVN 711 for JTG-97- 1, which included participation in Operation OELIBERATE GUARD over Bosnia and Opera- tion 9Ol,lTHERN WATCH in 9outhern Iraq. ln May of 1997, he assumed command of the squadron.
