Smiles of success beam on the faces of the hard working Yearbook Staff which includes: Ida Lett and Cheryl Thomas, typists; Mary Walker, Trea- surer; Verna Alston (seated), Secre- tary; Arnold Herring, Copy Editor: Gloria Wells, Assistant Secretary; and Sonny Alston, Associate Editor. Rall 8 n QAO KANON Aes Many hours of hard work and concentration are essential for a good yearbook. The web of deadlines entangles many of the students into spending long hours completing unfinished business: writing and typing, identifying countless faces, drawing layouts, and other tasks. Through the efforts of the students, faculty, and our Advisor, Mrs. E. T. Vaughan, the Bulldog Staff is able to present to you a panoramic view of the 1968-69 school year. 79

78 Editor's Message Realizing that today is done, and that the sun of tomorrow is rising, we the Sophomore Class of 1969, take another step forward. Although for us life at Kittrell is ending, many new horizons lie unexplored before us. Our days at Kittrell marked the beginning of our growth in many ways; they marked a time for us to begin rea- lizing the value of competition; a time for us to make preparations for tomorrow. Sometimes we failed, but in failing we found strength to begin anew. We sincerely hope that as you turn the pages of this annual you will be reminded of the bridge that we have halfway crossed. Our glorious days here are swiftly ebbing, but in our hearts we know we will always cherish the memories that we found here. Truly, 1969 was A VERY GOOD YEAR. Henry McDonald, Editor
