FRESHMAN Freshmen excitedly arrive at K.J.C. and are soon caught up in a maze of events that resembles mass con- fusion. There are placement exams, long registration lines, initiation activities, receptions, and many other name- less occurrences. Life seems to be an intricate labyrinth, but from this state we settle down to reach our goal—learning, for we realize that persistent people begin their success where others end in failure.

CONV OCATION EXERCISES Fall Convocation—the official opening of the school year, when the graduates and friends return to admire Kittrell College and to re-dedicate themselves to her support and continued growth. The key to a successful future lies within the leaders of our institution and is often manifested in speakers on campus who have significant advice to offer. Such a speaker is Mr. Charles L. Wheeler, Director of the State Commission on Higher Education Facilities, who dynamically delivered the Convocation Address. Mr. Charles L. Wheeler, Principal Speaker. Dean Woodward, Bishop Baber, and President Horton converse with Mr. Wheeler. The audience listens at- tentively to the National Alumni President, Mrs. V. B. Jamison.
