The school yeor begon eorly, on August 20, ond students hod to odjust to eorlier bus schedules due to the Kittonning bridge being closed for repoirs. The students from Worthington entered the holls for the first time, but they soon odjusted to the Iorger surroundings. The building itself underwent mony chonges. Two portoble clossroorns were brought in ond construction wos storted on o new oddition. With the porlsing lot under construction, students ond foculty hod to find new ploces to pork. The Free Methodist Church helped out by ollowing the use of their porking lot. While the groduoting seniors did not get to benifit from the construction but still hod to endure the chollenge, hossle, ond disorder, they left K.H.S. with the knowledge thot their school would never look quite the some ogoin. Not yet September, with the summer heot ond long sunny doys still oheod, Kittonning students found themselves bock in the clossrooms.'So long to shorts, swimsuits, ond borefeet. The styles shifted to jeons, preppy shirts, ond new clothing bought for the new school yeor. The closs of '85' wos quick to resume their ploce ot the heod of the lunch line-o priviledge they hod long owoited for, ond the sophomores onticipoted the ordering of closs rings. The freshmen were quick to odjust to high school life with oll the new foces ond teochers. There were no mojor difficulties in beginning closses.
