14 mini tration Dr. Burt Dunmire, Superintendent Samuel Johnson, some two hundred years ago, said that curiosity is one of the most permanent and certain characteristics of a vigorous intellect. Curiosity may be defined as an eager- ness to know. Never before in the history of our democracy has it been essential as it is now that our youth be characterized by an innate desire for knowledge. The members of the Class of 1958 of the Kittanning High School can witness to a vigorous intellect by exhibiting, in the years ahead, a constant and sincere eagerness to know, not for the sake of knowing, but for the contribution knowledge will enable them to make in helping to solve the prob- lems of tomorrow's society.
