Foryears to come, schools will face numerous problems --financial and physical along with a critical teacher short- age. Consequently, schools need the active support of every citizen. EI!-IE affairs of the Kittanning Area Secondary School System are administered by an operating committee. It is composed of one member from each district, and two mem- bers elected at large by the Kittanning Area Secondary School System Board. The board, composed of thirty-five members, meets in December for reorganization, and again in the spring to adopt the budget. Special meetings may be called when neces- sary. Participating in the Kittanning Area Secondary School System are five school districts-Kittanning Union School District, East Franklin Township, Rayburn Township, Val- ley Township and North Buffalo Township. 8
