BOARD OF EDUCATIGN Few people realize the vital importance of the Board of Education. ln contrast to the popular notion that school affairs manage themselves, we find this hody Working diligently for the proper maintenance and betterment of our school system. Our school hoard has done a great deal to provide each student with a , good hackground for later life and with the attitude and ideals so necessary for the citizen of a democracy. The members of the hoard have given their time generously to decide matters such as school policy and expenditures. NVe deeply appreciate the excellent work of this group. my , 3 . As the end of the season drew near. that green. awkward group of Freshmen disappeared, and in its place appeared a smooth-operating five which played hall as a unit. Mr. Burton deserves much praise for his work with this team. He worked diligently and faithfully, earning the team's respect and the res- pect of every KHS student. 1111 . This group, which serves as a training ground for the Senior Orchestra, is composed of pupils from the seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. Every Tuesday and Friday mornings the thirty-five members meet in the auditorium for practice. These niusicians play for junior High assemblies and someday they will reach their goal-to play with the Senior Orchestra. This organization provides excellent musical opportunities for the students of Kittanning High School. Many of the menihers also take an active part in the school hand. This gives them a great deal of training in marching as well as in playing classical and popular music. 71 l JORETTE l l'rmil Hung limi- C.rx't7m-r. l'4nt llllnnuru-.
