A MURDER, FOR WHICH THERE IS NO TRIAL The grieving soil lies bare, Thus tells the magic tale, Where once magnificent majesty Reigned as the forest ' s king. It bowed to no cruel wind, Nor shied from winter ' s cold. Yet felt the fatal cursed blow Of man ' s unthinking axe. A hundred years of patient time together with The cloudburst ' s praise, And sunshines psalms, And nature ' s love, all slain In one foul moment of such thoughtless haste. And yet, no reverent prayers, Nor left to lie in state, No tears, regret, or sad remorse For such a noble prince. Instead, t ' was beat, and chained, Then made a gallery slave, And now? - perhaps the reluctant host Of these unworthy words. Kerry Lappin.

During the past year K.C.I. ' s I.S.C.F. club has been in- volved in a number of interesting activities in conjunction with other clubs in our Waterloo County high school system. Most of the regular meetings were again held in the form of Supper Meetings in various homes in the Twin Cities. Special speakers, variety programs, and good food make up the bulk of what goes on at these meetings. We find that they are very helpful in giving those who have spiritual interest or problems some of the answers that Christianity offers. In the fall a special Sports Night was held in our gym, with a good attend- ance and interest. During the winter a Tobogganing Party to- gether with the other high schools was enjoyed by a good num- ber of snow lovers. Last summer and again in this coming summer our club sends at least one or two members to Leadership Camp at Poineer Camp in the Muskoka area. The idea is to assist young people to take responsibility in organizing and assisting in the various I.S.C.F. clubs in our high schools. Staff sponsors i n the past year were Mr. Poyntz and Mr. Boldt. I s c F Math Club This club consists of students who have a special interest in mathematics. Twice a week they meet to prepare for the annual Mathematics Contest. Once a week they meet to participate in inter-school mathema- tics games. Discussion Club This club is open to both teachers and students. Each week the club meets and takes part in an informal debate. Any topic may be discussed. Some past topics have been capital punishment, and truth in advertising. At the moment, membership is quite small, but we hope it will grow! Compliments of WILSON THIBIDEAU BUSLINES LTD.
