Caesar Photography Bernd Mueller, Mark Muldover, Dave Boswell, Mark Langdon and others A lot of people helped with all the odds ' n ends involved in producing a yearbook. Their help was invaluable. They included- Jill Cross, Cathy Burn, Cheryl Weber, Diane Bergen, Karen Tuchlinski, David Pohl, Jim Oswald, Cynthia Carlisle. Thanks also to all those who contributed literary and artwork, to everyone who helped identify pictures and to Mr. Templin, Mr. Caesar, and Mr. Eccles for their help and understanding. A school is a building and an institution, but more important, a school is people - individuals who, in effect, create the school. In Grumbler ' 73 we have tried to show KCI, not as just a building and classes, but as a meeting place of people and ideas. We used the theme, ' Nostalgia ' and at sever- al places in the book we have made use of pic- tures from old yearbooks. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did. Being editor this year has taught me alot. I was at times confronted with enthusiasm and will ingness, but more often with irresponsibility and apathy. We ' ve had our misunderstandings and argu- ments, but now that its all over, I ' d like to say thanks to everyone for their help and co-operat- ion in the production of Grumbler ' 73. I ' d also like to apologize for any omissions or mistakes which occur in this issue. Marilyn Anthes, Susan Day, Lynn Cross, Editor.

Grumbler 73— Putting it Together Mr. Peter Templin, Grumbler Staff Advisor The production of a yearbook is a king -sized task. This everyone appreciates on at least one day- that is, today, the day you are reading this volume. For most of the student body at K .C .1 . , the Grumbler is something they expect to receive, every spring, of high qual- ity and reasonable price because tradition has made it that way. For those same people, for three hundred and sixty - four days a year there is little concern for the small number of people and the tremendous amount of their work that make the Grumbler a memorable publication. So that if you are a reader and you think a word of thanks is due for Grumbler ' 73, give it to any or all of the editorial staff members next time you see them. But, better still, resolve now to come out next year and help in future productions. Keep your ears open in September ' 73 for annoucements about Grumbler organizational meetings. You can help and you will be welcome! But to part of the KCI student body must go a very special thanks. They are those dedicated people responsible for this issue. They are editors, writers, artists, photographers, typists, advertising salesmen and a hundred and one others who devoted hours- many hours- to this successful edition of the Grumbler. They will carry forever memories of hard work, frustration and achievement in the production for this volume and few will say they wouldn ' t do it all again if they had another chance. They are worthy of our praise as the preservers of the proud tradition that is KCI! P. Templin.

Jean Campbell, Head Girl Sandy Maclntyre, Head Boy The year has passed so quickly that already we find it is time to say goodbye and thank-you. What we learned during our time as Head Boy and Head Girl is something neither of us would want to trade. There were good times and of course a fair share of bad times. To Mr. Eccles we say thank-you for patience and advice, to Mr. Craig for understanding and the execut- ive for help. For those who will never return to KCI may you have success and happiness and to the undergrads who plan to come back, give some of yourself to the school. For us it is the end of high school life but for you next year is a new beginning. Use the opportunity. 72-73 was an enjoyable year for both of us. Thank- you for all you have given us.
