m 1 mm JmWm mmm ■ ' v -:■:- ' ■■ ' .■ ' ' The Council as well as devising schemes to give the peasants a feeling of accomplishment, also wanted to give them some lighthearted entertainment to take their minds off their assorted labours. Such things as dances, a play for peasants with Thespian inclinations and a Winter Carnival were all run by the various clubs and committees in the Kingdom. All the schemes had two purposes: 1. to entertain the rabble 2. to make money The only problem was that everyone usually forgot number 2; everyone that is, except for the Special Events Committee and their sponsor. (Their sponsor wasn ' t an ordinary knight — he was the Roman ambassador for the Kingdom.) And so, the peasants enjoyed themselves at the social functions, and they always wished that there were more. ■ Hi
