The Faculty ' s duties were to keep peasants working, to try and prevent any breaking of The Laws and to report wrongdoers and shit disturbers to the axemen, counts or king. Most of the faculty could control the majority of the rabble with one flick of their bullwhips (commonly known as tongues) but there was one major problem that they all faced. This was no ordinary peasant, this was Radical the Dragon. He would disturb the working of the peasants. He would refute the ideas of the Faculty which had been passed down from generations before. He would break the most venerable laws. He would raise havoc among the peasants. He would sit on the castle stairs (and since he was a fire breathing dragon he was a fire hazard). He would argue against the rulings of The King and he would even chew gum in the presence of King Carl. It was the Faculty ' s duty to do all they could to prevent his getting control over the peasantry. But Radical could not be easily daunted, even banishment from The Kingdom would not stop him. A few of the Knights realized that Radical sometimes made sense and they listened to him but the majority were not so open-minded. And so it was that Radical was forever being chased and threatened but that was alright because it gave something for Radical to gripe about all the time. The Knights wore their armour and carried a lance only when they were on the war path or after Radical otherwise they used their bullwhips.
