K. C. 0. S. HOSIDITAI. STAFF presented for treatment in the hospital. Any student doctor having a case that ref quires hospital care brings the case to the K. C. O. S. Hospital and the necessary care is given. All clinical operations and obstetrics cases are presented in the 'LPit which is located in a wing ofthe hospital. Dr. George Laughlin and Dr. Earl Laughlin, jr., both present surgical cases before senior students. Following the operation a discussion is held and any questions which may arise are answered. This training is very valuable as it fits the student for hospital interne work. Dr. John Denby, who is in charge of the Qhstetrics department, also presents clinic cases in the uPit. All junior and senior students in the school are admitted to these cases. Much experience that will he helpful to the future doctors is gained from these obstetrical clinic cases as this line of work makes up a large part of many young physicians' practice. Dr. Hardy, head ot' the Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Department ofthe school, is another member of the stall who conducts regular clinics in the K. C. 0. S. Hospital. .-.-..........t....,...,,. I . . Of course in the early days surgery played only a small part due to the fact that it was lost sight of in the use of manipulative treatment. As time passed, however, Osteopathic Physicians came to realize more and more the relationship hetween Osteopathy and Surgery. This realization opened a new field, that of osteopathic care hefore and after operation. So great was the success of the early osteopathic surgeons that interest in this hranch grew rapidly and much study was devoted to the osteopathic care of surgical cases. With the study came many new developments and the definite knowlf edge that patients cared for in this manner showed a better prognosis than those receiving only the customary medical care. The graduate of an osteopathic school today is thoroughly trained in surgery and is qualihed to recognize and diagnose conditions requiring surgical care. The K. C. C. S.
