From the time of arrival it was our privilege and duty to take an active part in aiding to a climax, traditions, the outcome of which was predestined. That timefhonored sport T of baseball was chosen to be the medium of athletic encounter. All of our most valiant efforts were frustrated after the initial period of the game. Confusion was prevalent. I Our worthy opponents demonstrated their superior skill and the sun in its descent still M shone upon many green-capped individuals. Qi: cf? -ll Those who have a natural tendency toward action before the footlights gave a short A exhibition between the halves of one of our Varsity football games. The features of this T performance were the act by the hulafhula dancers and the exodus of an aged horse under the able guidance of our extemporaneous leader of cheers. Fitting rites were observed, ll, amends were made for the loss of such a valuable animal, and the hide duly treated for QF? preservation. This was mounted and hung on the wall in the new gymnasium. From l this position it will be viewed by those who see Ht to follow in our footsteps. It is em- . blematic of the song adopted by our school- The Old Grey Mare. A reception was tendered us in the gymnasium by the Sophomores to signify the cessation of hostilities. l l In the interfclass basketball tournament our representatives won their way to the final round. The team of the senior class was our opponent in this game. Our team later A played several games with teams in the vicinity and in all of these were victorious. After the beginning of the second semester a dance was given to defray the expenses incurred by the untimely death of the Old Grey Mare. This function was held in the gymnasium and was a great success from the point of enjoyment on the part of those who entered into the fun and frolic. But more than all of the other events we cherish the fact that we, as a class, have i been adopted by our true friend and counsellor, Mrs. George. For what more could we ask? F. M. A. L.
